Canterbury Community Child Care Centre is an extended hours preschool catering for children between the ages of 3 and 5.
Situated in the pleasant residential suburb of Ashbury, this long-established, community-based centre offers young children a full preschool program including structured and free play, individual activities and group work.
The centre operates between 8.30am and 4.00pm with the children attending two or three consecutive days a week.
Through preschool education our children become active, enthusiastic learners ready for the challenges of formal schooling.
At Preschool your child develops:
Socially - they learn to build friendships and feel part of a group
Emotionally - they develop self-confidence and independence
Intellectually - they become active, self-motivated learner
Physically - they develop and increase their muscle control and co-ordination
Management Committee The centre operates with a Management Committee. This committee is made up of parents with children currently enrolled within the pre-school.
The management committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting at the beginning of each year and consists of:
President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Public Officer General Committee members Fundraising Committee members
Committee meetings are held monthly. Feedback is provided regarding the operations of the service, children and program. This enables all parents to be involved in the decision making of the pre-school and their child's education.
