Number of children: 5 children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
My name is Coralie Price, my husband and I have 3 children.
2 are adults, 1 is still in school.
I have been a registered Carer with Bankstown Family Day Care since January 2000.
Qualifications: Enrolled Nurse, Certificate 111 in Children’s Services, current first aid certificate – Apply First Aid (formerly called Senior First Aid). I am also currently studying for a Diploma in Children’s Services.
Set Up: Care is provided in a self contained “Granny Flat” and I have a separate back yard that is set up specifically for Day Care use. This ensures that the children in my care have an environment that is organised to encourage play, interaction and complies with NSW Children’s Services Regulation 2012.
Activities: I have a wide variety of toys and equipment for the children to play and learn with. We also attend 2 playgroups and go on a variety of excursions e.g. walk to the local park or catch the train into the Museum etc. Risk Assessment forms are completed prior to any excursion.
Childhood is a time for fun, a time to learn about life and a journey of adventure. Young children are innocent and vulnerable, loving and trusting but also capable and resourceful. In my care I strive to provide an environment where children feel loved, nurtured and cared for. I want the parents to feel comfortable about leaving their child in my care and to be assured that I will always act in their child’s best interests.
The learning experiences that I provide are based on play, children’s interests and developmental goals. By doing so the children are involved in learning experiences that are real and relevant to their level of understanding.
I believe that this helps lay the foundation for future learning and develops a positive sense of self in the children.
My role as a carer is to complement and support the role of the family and to provide consistent nurturing care to the children.
My own personal commitment is to adhere to the Regulations and work according to the Early Years Learning Framework.
Coralie Price has looked after our daughter from the age of 13 months to 2 years and 8 months.
During this time we were very happy with the care she provided our daughter and the environment.
We were impressed with Coralie’s enthusiasm for child development. She always had new activities. Her teaching skills proved to be very good as well. Her genuine care and attention to each child showed, with children having varied backgrounds and/or needs but all advancing very well. We had complete reassurance knowing that our daughter was safe, would be having fun experimenting with new things. Coralie takes no risks with children’s safety. Coralie is good at communicating and an intelligent caring person who we would recommend without hesitation to any parent considering her care. We left her care only due to relocation. Maija Mateos. Coralie Price is part of the Bankstown Family Care Scheme and has cared for my daughter over the past four years. As a mother the safety, happiness and general welfare of your child is paramount. Within minutes of my daughters first day with Coralie I knew she was in extremely good hands. Coralie is a true professional who offers children a wonderful start in life. My daughter has enjoyed the diversity of numerous activities that include weekly visits to Tafe Playsession, visits to the park and excursions to the Museum and children’s shows etc. My daughter participated in general day to day activities such as water play, art, craft, drawing, cutting and much more within a dedicated indoor and outdoor area. Both my daughter and I have made some lifetime friends being part of Coralie’s day care family and we will miss seeing them on a day to day basis. I would recommend Coralie to all parents seeking care for their children whether it is one day or four. You couldn’t ask for a better day care mum. Mary-Jane Wardrop 12/12/08
My son has been in Coralie’s care for the last 5 years, starting at 3 months of age. During that time my son has developed into a bright happy boy, despite being autistic. My son depends on routines and visual aids. Coralie set up and used visual aids and appropriate language to make my sons day to day activities easy, educational and enjoyable. Coralie also took additional safety precautions to accommodate my sons special needs. At the same time, Coralie included my son in the normal day to day activities and gave him the opportunity to socialise with other kids without disabilities and adults. This interaction has been very important to my sons preparation for school and other activities outside of school. Coralie’s positive attitude and dedication to my sons development has been fantastic. I recommend Coralie as a carer to anyone who is looking for an environment for their child that is safe, educational and fun. Iwona Gibson 22/02/2008
