Kids World Child Care Centre prides itself with the friendly and professional staff working at the centre. The extensive number of staff with varying qualifications and experiences work together as a team to provide a service of exceptional quality.
This will be done through, ongoing staff development (in services, information nights), regular communication (social, staff meetings diaries and newsletters) and team work, where all the staff value the sharing of friendship, knowledge and ideas for their benefit of staff morale.
We aim to provide continuity of care throughout the centre. This is achieved by using the same relief and casual staff who are familiar with the routines of the centre and the children in their care. Continuous relief staff also allow the children to feel comfortable with them should their primary contact teachers be absent.
Please contact us to organise a time to come and see what makes our centre special and to discuss your child care needs, we look forward to meeting you.
Our centre offers a safe and friendly environment, which supports the individual needs of families, based on open communication and provides an anti-bias curriculum, which is stimulating and educationally sound.
Our curriculum is non discriminatory/anti-biased. We cater for individual needs and beliefs of children and ensure that our program and daily practices reflects children's individuality, as well as reflects the diverse values of staff, families and the wider community.
Further, we believe in leaving the communication channels open between all parties. Families play a major role in the decision making process, as well as within programming and evaluations. Families are encouraged to document their children's interests and strengths, and this is then used to plan the program.
In addition, we believe in reviewing our policies and procedures as a team, which consists of management, families and staff. We provide appropriate activities satisfying the:
1 Physical
2 Emotional
2 Social and
3 Educational development of the children, offering simultaneously fun and stimulation
Furthermore, we believe that children learn through interest based play. We provide a program that caters for
individual children's interests, strengths and abilities, while at the same time challenging and stimulating children's minds through social interactions and by encouraging play opportunities.
Our centre provides 4 meals each day including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea.
Since children spend many hours within our care, menu planning will provide a balance between new and familiar foods, reflecting the cultural background of the children, as well as foods that are fresh and healthy, we serve Halal meals and special meals for lactose intolerant children. and children with allergies.
Staff at this centre will be positive role-models, using spontaneous discussions to enhance children's awareness of good eating habits, eating with the children at meal times and demonstrating an enjoyment of food.
Mealtimes will be made as enjoyable as possible while still giving children the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills and develop their self-help skills. This will be achieved by:
Staff sitting with children during mealtimes and guiding children's behaviours, assisting them to serve themselves and encouraging discussion about nutrition.
Staff ensuring that children wash and dry their hands before and after eating
Providing children with seconds if they wish
Not pressuring children to try new foods
Not hurrying mealtime
Providing meals that are both familiar to children and nutritious
Providing culturally appropriate utensils where possible to help enhance the atmosphere at mealtimes
As Children's Services Regulations (2004) states, families play an important role in planning nutrition for children each day. Food will be viewed as an essential part of the program and families will be included in decisions regarding menu planning and foods that will be served.
Families will also be provided with information on how much food their child ha eaten each day. The weekly menu will be displayed and information on food and nutrition from recognised authorities will be made available to families and visitors.
In order to comply with DOCS Regulations regarding the employment of a cook preparing meals, we will ensure that cook will undertake basic and regular training in food safety and nutrition.
