The basis of our philosophy.
Our Program is developed based on emergent /interest based curriculum, which involves staff observing children’s development, interests and interpreting these observation to inform planning that extends knowledge and development.
We are influenced by childhood theorists including Piaget, Montessori, Vygotsky and Reggio Emilia.
We follow a multicultural/multilingual anti bias approach in which all cultures and languages are respected and included.
Experiences are planned and spontaneous based around development and curriculum areas including:
social / emotional
language
mathematics
science
cognitive skills
creativity
gross and fine motor skills
An integrated approach is used in which learning areas complement one another during play and structured experiences.
We recognise the value of play to early childhood development as it allows them to explore, experiment and experience challenges and success. We also recognise children develop individually and have unique backgrounds, families and experiences which are valued and integrated into the program.
