At Leylands Learning Centre we believe the early childhood years to be the most significant years in a child’s life. These are the years where the experiences that children are exposed to will help define who they will become. During these most important years the children’s brain develops the most and fastest than at any other stage of a person’s life. By the age of 2 years old, the brain is about 80% of the adult size! This is where the foundations for their learning, health and behaviour are shaped. With this belief as our foundation, we base children’s learning on their interests and life experiences which forms the basis of our curriculum, while incorporating The Early Years Learning Framework.
Another belief we hold strongly, is that parents are a child’s first and best teachers. We aim to work together with families in developing our curriculum, to ensure that we are accommodating children and their family’s needs and interests. Leylands Learning Centre operates 52 weeks per year, and we accomodate for children aged 6 weeks, until 6 years of age. Our hot nutritious meals meet the daily dietary requirements and we are able to accomodate for any individual dietary requirements.
We are in the process of training for a new school readiness program that will be commencing soon - Pre Lit. Each Wednesday we also have Happy Feet that attends, so contact us to discuss your child care needs today.

Toilet Training
Just as your baby starts to get older, and you fall into a comfortable routine, it comes time to toilet train. And all of a sudden you find yourself in a spot where you just don't know what to do! Here are some helpful hints to get your prince or princess on the throne.
Pick the right time
Most children aren't ready to use the toilet until they are two or three years' old.
Start preparing your child
It's a good idea to prepare at least a week
Give it a go
It's a good idea to wait until you've got a quiet week at home before starting. Begin first thing in the morning by putting your child in their special underpants, and some old, loose-fitting clothes.
The first few weeks
Toilet training doesn't happen overnight; it might take your child just a few days to get the hang of it, or possibly a few weeks.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes children need a little extra help.
If you find yourself getting angry, or you feel as though your child is not responding, simply stop. Have a break and try again in a few weeks
